Zebro Blitzes the SCMX Labor Day Event
September 9-10, 2026

Tyler Zebro has been dominant in his Spring Creek motos all year long and this weekend labored successfully once again, winning in Schoolboy 2, 250 C and Open C both days and taking the win in all twelve motos. But Zebro was just one of the lucky racers to hit the track on this fine weekend as almost 750 entries were slotted in for Sunday and about 550 on Monday. The weather held up decently for this weekend and the track was in great condition under the watchful eyes of the Martin brothers.
Checking out some races from Sunday’s lineup:
The pack was restless on the line as the 50+B class warmed up their bikes and with much nasty engine revving they shot down the start straight as the gate dropped. But the young 50 year old pups were soon taught a lesson by their elder competitor as Dan Mauser (60 years plus!) shockingly took control of the race in short order. Paul Haack settled into second but could not reel in Master Mauser. Dave Williams shrugged off a poor start and moved up to third later in the race. The order was set for the flag drop with Mauser a solid 15 seconds out front and trailed in by Haack, Williams, Jay Calkins and Big Rob Burch.
Moto two was fired off and this time Haack launched best to roost through turn one out front. He led at the conclusion of lap one with Mauser and Williams in tow. Mauser put the hammer down and took control shortly and then Williams took a digger so he could rest a bit. Mauser ended up with the win about 5 seconds free of Haack while Calkins capitalized on Williams mistake to grab third over Burch and Paul Ruprecht.
Noah Miesen slammed through turn one to lead the Open A class into battle. Jake McPherson latched onto second with Texas-based Lane Shaw running third. Miesen ran a strong consistent pace to thwart McPherson’s passing efforts all the way to the checkered. Gavin Tilford was on the move late in the race and pulled into third for the last two laps. Miesen had a couple of seconds over McPherson as the checkered was waved to end the race. Tilford ‘s sold ride gave him third over Brandon Espe-Tiegs and Shaw.
Tanner Schlegel blasted out front through the first turn as the second moto was dropped. He appeared to be running much better than in the first moto so must have shrugged off some problems and he led all the way to the flag. McPherson and Tilford ended up in second and third and provided some strong pursuit along the way but just couldn’t track down Schlegel. Espe-Tiegs took fourth over Shaw while Miesen apparently inherited some of Schlegel’s bad luck and finished back in sixth. McPherson snapped up the overall win by virtue of his consistent 2-2 score.
The 85cc Mini 9-11 class was a good, competitive class with riders from Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa and Wisconsin. Ryder Kruger proved that South Dakota is a hotbed of talent as he pulled the holeshot in both motos and took off for two solid wins. Braxton Johnson preserved the honor of Minnesota as managed to take second in both of his rides and even led for a lap in the second moto while challenging Ryder. Liam Kruger took third overall with a 3-4 day over the 5-3 finished of Nebraska’s Brody Jones.
