Haas, Pavlovich and Guinn Score Triple Wins at Super Series Rds 6 & 7

Brandon Haas, Tucker Pavlovich and Oden Guinn each cooked up enough speed to grab wins in three classes as the Pro National race was bookended by the Super Series rounds 6 and 7. A huge crowd of racers with entries totalling over 940 was present for Friday’s event and Brandon Haas, Minnesota-grown and main guy at Club MX was the only rider to ring up triple wins on Friday as he took gold in 25+A, 30+A and Open A. Oden Guinn and Tucker Pavlovich were two very quick mini riders on Sunday’s Pro Track Challenge race day as Pavlovich snapped up 65cc 10-11, 65cc 7-11 and 85cc 9-11 victories and Guinn aced the Mini-E, 50cc Premix 7-8 and 50cc Open 4-8 on the Mini track. Sunday’s event featured a respectable 650+ entries and the riders were able to compete on an expanded layout which included portions of Mount Martin as they cut across the middle portion of the hill to the downslope side and turned back to tackle a slightly tamed version of the new mid-hill double jump that the pros hit on Saturday. The weather cooperated well enough and although pretty hot at least no serious amount of rain was encountered for the whole weekend.
Haas, a longtime rider at Spring Creek before moving east with his Club MX venture, blitzed the pack to lead through turn one as the Open A class was released for moto one. Franklin Bowsher and Brandon Riehm slotted into second and third by the end of the first lap as they worked through the pack a bit. Haas really twisted the throttle to the max and pulled out about six seconds over Bowsher by the end of lap one with Riehm hanging in fairly close to Bowsher. Haas settled in for the lead while both Bowsher and Riehm dropped their lap times to hold the gap from the leader over the next few laps. The flag flew with Haas maintaining about the same lead as he had on lap one to take the win over Bowsher. Riehm dropped back a bit on the last lap but maintained third by a large gap over Tanner Schlegel with Jake McPherson running in for fifth.
Schlegel popped off the holeshot in moto two but Haas shot by to lead quickly. Riehm soon displaced Schlegel for second and ran strong to hold on to second all through the race. Haas took another solid win with Riehm six seconds behind at the finish line. Bowsher had to make his way up to third after losing a bit of time while working his way to the top five on lap one. Schglegel was fourth with McPherson once again fifth.
Luke Carlson led a pack of 32 riders through turn one as the Schoolboy 1 class hit the track on Friday for moto one. Carter Drechsel and Elliott Bowsher were by in short order though as the first lap proceeded by. Drechsel and Bowsher battled intensely for the next few laps and pulled away a bit from Carlson who found Kobi McAllister soon applying some pressure. Bowsher really poured it on after the white flag and stole away the lead soon thereafter and pulling away a number of bike lengths by the checkered. Drechsel was safely across the line ahead of McAllister who had secured third about halfway through the moto. Crayten Roberts held fourth over Carlson after a last lap pass.
Lousiana native Bowsher, now seemingly familiar with the track, shot out in the lead in moto two with Drechsel and Roberts in pursuit and a bit back was Carlson. Bowsher was running smooth out front and Drecshsel was running about two seconds behind for a couple of laps but DNFed during lap three. Bowsher poured it on for the second half of the race and went on to win big with about a 14 second gap over Roberts when the checkered flew. Carlson and Jason Arends were safely across for third and fourth with Keaton O’Conner rounding out the top five.
Tyler Zebro looked like a super star in the 250 C class as he shot into the lead of moto one and shook off any pursuit effort that Austin Moeller made from second place. Zebro’s lap times would have made him pretty competitive in the A class and he crushed it in the C class with a massive 30 second lead by the end of the moto. Moeller had a pretty solid run for second with about 9 seconds over Ike Anderson when the race was done. Grayson Hettinger moved up from sixth on lap one to take fourth at the checkered and Jacob Baxter landed in fifth.
